Srinagar: Director, Social welfare Kashmir, Bashir Ahmed Dar who was visiting officer Monday listened people’s grievances during My Town My Pride Programme (MTMP) held at Sher-i-Kashmir Park, Polo Ground Srinagar.
Acting Mayor, Municipal Corporation Srinagar, Parvez Ahmed Qadri; Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary besides Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Gazanfar Ali supervised the event.
On the occasion, a large gathering of citizens participated and put forth their grievances and raised several other issues related to Building permissions, Birth and Death Certification, works and other allied functions of the Corporation.
While interacting with the people, the visiting officer said the main aims and objectives of the program is to strengthen a bond between the government and the people and the public outreach with service delivery at door steps.
The focus during the program remained on spot grievances redressal, instant delivery of services to the masses and speedy execution of people centric projects on the ground. The officers from the line departments had set their camps in the programme and gave patient hearing to them with the assurance of prompt redressal.
The Departments of Animal Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture, Handloom, Handicrafts, Social Welfare, Revenue, Education, Housing Board and Floriculture disseminated information with respect to various schemes of their departments through stalls.
A special awareness programme on COVID19 was also held by the officials of the health and social welfare departments respectively besides a cultural program including folk music, Nukkad Naatak performed by Feroz Culture Forum Bandipora were organized during the event.
During the programme, the visiting officers also distributed several sports kits among the various clubs and government institutions of Srinagar District sponsored by Youth Services and Sports Departments.
Among others, Joint Commissioner Works, Ishtiyaq Ahmed Shah, Chief Account Officer, Rafiq Ahmad and other senior officers of concerned department were also present in the programme.
