Three vehicle lifters arrested, nine bikes recovered in Jammu: Police

Jammu: Police on Saturday claimed to have achieved a major success in its initiative against vehicle lifters by arresting three persons involved in the act and recovering nine two-wheelers lifted by them in Janipur area.
Police spokesman in a statement on Saturday said that two complaints regarding motorcycle theft had been lodged by Jaspal Singh, son of Jang Bhadur Singh of Nanak Nagar Jammu and Vikram Bali, son of Ramesh Bali of Lower Roop Nagar Janipur Jammu respectively.
“In this regard, a case under FIR number 49/2020 under section 379 IPC and FIR number 72/2020 under section 379 IPC were registered respectively at Police Station Janipur, Jammu,” police said, adding that special teams led by Station House Officer (SHO) Janipur Inspector Gurmeet Singh swung into action and started all round investigation using all the possible means like mobile tracking, camera recording of all the routes of Janipur led to rounding up of suspects.
“On further investigation, the team arrested three persons namely Tufail Hussain @Karroo and @sajjad, son of Modh Sharief of Ganjote Mohare, Reasi, Fayaz Ahmed @ Sunny, son of Ghulam Nabi of Upper Roop Nagar Sec. No 07 and Shakeel Ahmed @ Reyan, son of Ali Muhammad of Bunjwaa Kishtwar A/P Ramzan Pura Janipur Jammu,” police said.
The statement added that on their disclosure, two motor cycles mentioned in the FIR along with seven other motor cycles were also recovered.
The recovered motor cycles include Motor cycle TVS Apache 200 under chassis number CHMD637BR13H2G20451, Motor Cycle Bullet chassis number ME3U3K5CIKB901118, Motor Cycle Bullet chassis number ME3UK5CIJC288107, Motor Cycle Apache 160 chassis number MD634KE6802B91019, Motor Cycle R1-5 chassis number ME11CK045D2008238, Motor Cycle Pulsar 180 chassis number MD2DHDJZZNCH55976, Motor Cycle R1-5 chassis number ME1RG0611GOD48393, Motor Cycle Honda Dream chassis number ME4JC582HC8004370 and Motor Cycle Bullet chassis number ME3U3K5C1JC284876.
Further investigation of the case is going on, police said in the statement
