Srinagar: Activists of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Jammu and Kashmir and aspirants of Fire and Emergency Department on Saturday staged a protest in Srinagar against the recently declared selection list of Fire and Emergency Department.
The protesters raised slogans against the alleged wrong selections and demanded stern action against those involved in it.
Bilal Parray, General Secretary BJYM J&K, while speaking during the protest, said, due to the wrongdoings involved in the recruitment processes, many deserving candidates are deprived of their right to get jobs.
“If the selection list of Fire and Emergency Department is not cancelled soon then BJYM will launch a massive agitation against the malpractice involved in the recruitment process,” Parray said .
He demanded a high-level probe into the alleged recruitment scam and sacking of all those involved in it. As per the statement, BJYM has also written an open letter to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to look into this matter and punish those who are playing with the future of the young generation.
Bilal said that BJYM has launched a signature campaign as well, which will be sent to Lieutenant Governor of J&K to highlight the plight of deserving candidates.
Incharge Department of Media & Information Technology Manzoor Bhat stated that the selection list of Fire and Emergency Department released recently dropped many deserving candidates with high merit and qualifications and selected the lesser qualified ones besides several districts of J&K UT have been completely washed out with no selection at all.
He appealed LG Manoj Sinha to personally intervene in this matter so that the future of deserving candidates can be saved.
Later, Police as per the statement used batons at protesters in which many BJYM activists and candidates were injured.
It is pertinent to mention that more than four hundred people participated in the protest which includes BJYM activists, Fire and Emergency Department candidates and Wasim Raja, Advocate Hamid, Khalid Bakal, Umar Jan, Shakoor Meer and others
