Police Public interaction meetings facilitated in Awantipora, Bandipora , Srinagar

Srinagar: As a part of public outreach program, Police public interaction meetings were facilitated by Police in Awantipora, Bandipora and Srinagar while following social distancing norms and other protocols.
In Awantipora, the interaction meeting was facilitated at Police Station Awantipora. The meeting was chaired by SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem-JKPS along with SDPO Awantipora and SHO PS Awantipora. The meeting was attended by Traders, Numbardars, Chowkidars and Transporters of Awantipora area.
During the meeting, the participants raised various issues including drug abuse, traffic jamming, exorbitant fare charged by transporters to the passengers and many other issues. The chairing officers assured the participants that their genuine grievances pertaining to police will be resolved on priority and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal. SSP Awantipora also assured the participants that police will take strong action against the drug peddlers & its cultivators besides, persons involved in other social crimes.
The participants appreciated the Awantipora police for continues drive against drug peddlers and cultivators.
In Bandipora, the interaction meetings were held at Gunddachina Aragam, Ajas Sumbal and Police Station Bandipora with the respectables and civil society members of the area besides, traders’ federation Bandipora.
The meetings were chaired by the concerned SHO’s. During the meeting, the participants raised various issues. The chairing officers assured the participants that their genuine grievances pertaining to police will be resolved on priority and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.
Similarly in Srinagar, the interaction meeting was facilitated at Police Station Karan Nagar. The meeting was chaired by SHO PS Karan Nagar. The meeting was attended by trade bodies of Karan Nagar locality.
The participants raised various issues including road accidents, drug peddling, installation of CCTV cameras, traffic jam, vehicle theft etc. The chairing officer assured the participants for early redressal of their issues.
The main aim of these meetings is to facilitate interaction with community members and redress their grievances so as to create cordial police-public relationship.
The participants assured their full cooperation to police in tackling social evils and adherence to the guidelines as well as health advisories issued by civil administration & health department from time to time in view of Covid-19 pandemic. The participants also appreciated the efforts of police for facilitating such meetings where participants express their views freely.
