Div Com (J) discusses arrangements for Republic Day 2021

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, Thursday reviewed the arrangements for the Republic Day-2021 celebration, here at a high level meeting.
The Div Com stressed on maintaining close coordination among the various departments and directed the divisional administration to finalize the necessary arrangements in advance for the smooth conduct of the National event.
The meeting was attended by IGP Jammu Zone, SSP Jammu, SSP Security, Director School Education, Commissioner JMC, Director Floriculture, Joint Director Information, Joint Director Hospitality and Protocol, Joint Director School Education, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, besides senior officers from Army, Indian Air Force, Security, BSF, PDD, PHE, R&B, Health, Floriculture, Education, Sports Council, Fire and Emergency Services, State Motor Garages, JKRTC, other departments.
The meeting was informed that the main function will be organized at Maulana Azad (MA) Stadium where the flag hoisting ceremony would be held followed by March past and other programs.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the Police and Traffic authorities to make elaborate security and traffic arrangements so that the general public reaches the venue in a hassle free manner. He asked the SSP Security to look after the security and anti sabotage arrangements in and around the venue of the function.
The Youth Services and Sports Department was directed to ensure proper transportation and logistics facilities for the participating contingents, including school children.
Similarly, PHE and PDD Departments were asked to ensure availability of safe drinking water and uninterrupted power supply, while Health and Fire Services departments were asked to make available sufficient number of Ambulances and Fire Tenders at the venue.
In view of Covid -19 Pandemic, he directed to monitor mandatory wearing of face masks by everyone visiting the venue and also to adhere to all the COVID -19 SOPs Viz maintaining Social Distancing, proper Sanitization etc.
Further, he directed that the theme of this year’s cultural Programs should focus on Covid Warriors, Humane face of Police, Atam-Nirbhar Bharat, Relief Efforts by Govt and Service Delivery System.
In addition, he directed that the Mangal Dhun to be played at 5 places of historical importance.
Directions were given to Doordarshan and AIR for the live broadcast of the event.
A Committee Comprising Director School Education Jammu, Joint Director Information, Additional secretary Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was formulated to finalise the items to be performed on Republic Day 2021.
Other important issues related illumination of government buildings printing of invitation cards and brochures, barricading, setting up of control room in MA Stadium and beating retreat were also discussed.
