DDC Ramban inaugurates inter zone -district level Girls Athletic meet

Ramban: District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan Thursday inaugurated Inter Zone-District level Athletic meet for girls, here at District Police Line ground.The event has been organized by Youth Services and Sports Department Ramban.

Nearly 100 selected Girls from six zones including Banihal, Khari, Ukhral, Ramban, Gool and Batote participated in the various competitions including high Jump and long jump, Race, Shot Put, Discus throw, Javelin Throw and other activities.

While interacting with the players, the DDC said participating in sports along with academics is imperative for channelizing the potential of youth in full.

He directed the concerned to ensure maximum participation of girls in all sports activities.

DYSSO, Dharamveer Singh, while briefing about the event, said that different activities will be held during the one day event in which over 100 girl students of   under 14, under 17 and under 19 age groups are going to participate.

Dy.SP, Waqar Bhat, besides officers and officials of District Youth Services and Sports Ramban were also present on the occasion.

In the under 14 High Jump competition,  Sania Bano of GHS Sundgali (Height:- 2.7 ft.), & Bisma Jamil of UPS Jabba ( Height:- 2.5 ft.), bagged Gold & Silver Medals respectively.

In U17,  Shabnam of HS Seri ( Height:- 3.5 ft.), Uzma Abdullha of HS Tethar ( Height:- 3.3 ft.)  & Nidhi Jaan of HSS Tether Shabnam of HS Seri ( Height:- 3.2 ft.) bagged Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively, while in U19 category  Rabia Yaseen of GHSS Banihal bagged Gold medal.

In 200 Mtrs U 17 Race competition,   Rafee Banoo of Dandarth ( Timing:- 39.28), Reeba of GHS Seri ( Timing:- 40.22) & Varsha Kohli of GGHS Tethar ( Timing:- 42.64) bagged Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively.

In U 14 Long Jump competition, Samee Banoo of HS Sundgalli (Distance:- 7.3 ft.), Afroza Bano of UPS Jabba (Distance:- 5.7 ft.) & Ayesha Hussain of HSS Tethar clinched Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively.

In U17 category, Shivali Devi of GHS Batote (Distance:- 8.10 ft.), Aisha Saleem HSS Tethar (Distance:- 8.8ft.) & Ronak Rashid of HS Seri (Distance:- 8.3ft)clinched Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively.

In U19 competition,   Tania Aashraf of HSS Tethar (Distance:- 6.8 ft.), Asiya Banoo of GGHSS Banihal (Distance:- 5.4ft.)  clinched Gold & Silver respectively.

In Discus Throw U 14 competition,  Afeeyah Jaan of GHS Sundgali ( Distance:- 8.80m), Jyoti Devi of GHS Batote ( Distance:- 7.80m), & Nazia of UPS Gagirsulla (Distance:- 7.40m), clinched Gold, Silver & Bronze Medals respectively, while in U17 category  Reeba of GHS Seri clinched the Gold medal.

In U 19 category, Asya Bano of GHSS Banihal (Distance:- 7.40m) & Aasia Nazir of HSS Tethar (Distance:- 6.00m) clinched Gold, Silver Medals respectively.

In  U 14 Shot Put competition,  Adeeba Nazir of New Convent Banihal (Distance:-4.30m), Payal devi of GHS Batote (Distance:- 3.60m)& Sqidah of UPS gagirsullah (Distance:- 2.60m)  clinched Gold Silver & Bronze Medals respectively.

In U 17 category,  Shivali Devi of GHS Batote (Distance:- 5.60m), Mehar Kayoom of HS Seri (Distance:- 4.45m) & Ravika Rafiq of HSS Tethar (Distance:- 3.90m) clinched Gold Silver & Bronze Medals respectively.

For the U19 competition,  Maysooma Rashid of GHSS Banihal (Distance:- 5.55m) clinched the Gold Medal.

In the Javelin Throw competition U17,   Shabnam Jan of HS Seri (Distance:- 9m) clinched the gold medal.
