Critics and Symapathisers of Farooq Abdullah in Delhi

Farooq Abdullah a three time former chief minister of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state who does not find listeners in Delhi is turning to China with the belief that Beijing would facilitate revocation of the last year’s August 5 decisions on constitutional position of the erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir sooner or later. Undoubtedly last year’s August 5 decisions have shattered Farooq Abdullah’s faith in the working of the democracy and above all the constitution of the country as a state which acceded to the union of India with the personal approval of his father late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was divided not only without his personal approval but also in absence of a popular government in erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state. Farooq Abdullah has spoken about the restoration of statehood and special status in reference with recent military face off with China in eastern Ladhak only to drop hints that when he doesn’t find listeners in Delhi, there is no other alternative for him but to speak about China intervention in Ladhak for provoking the incumbent central government to listen to him on last year’s August 5 decisions over the constitutional position of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state. Reiterating his opposition to  constitutional changes in Jammu & Kashmir since August 5 last year particularly the abrogation of Article 370 is the democratic and constitutional right of Farooq Abdullah both as a leader of the top Jammu & Kashmir mainstream party and as well as a bonfide citizen of the country but speaking about China’s role in the restoration of statehood and special status of Jammu & Kashmir is an attempt to convey a message to Delhi that Chinese intervention in Ladhak is the consequential fall out of the incumbent central government’s last year’s Aug 5 decision over the erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state. The incumbent central government may or may not pay heed to the controversial remarks of Farooq Abdullah over military face off with China vis-à-vis the changes in the constitutional position of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state, but his utterances are generating heated debates on national news channels over the controversial constitutional changes announced and implemented since August 5 in Jammu & Kashmir in absence of a popular government and an elected assembly.

Sympathizers of Farooq Abdullah in Delhi over constitutional changes in Jammu & Kashmir since August 5 last year  have become his critics but it would be worrying for the central government if  his criticism in Delhi generates support and sympathy for his new political narrative in Kashmir, the stronghold of his party National Conference the biggest grass root level party in Jammu & Kashmir.

The anti-establishment voices in Delhi who spoke against last year’s August 5 decisions on erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir state are now turning against Farooq Abdullah just for linking  the issue of Ladhak border row with the constitutional changes in Jammu & Kashmir. So sympathisers of Farooq Abdullah in Delhi over constitutional changes in Jammu & Kashmir since August 5 last year  have become his critics but it would be worrying for the central government if  his criticism in Delhi generates support and sympathy for his new political narrative in Kashmir, the stronghold of his party National Conference the biggest grass root level party in Jammu & Kashmir.
