DC G’bl flags-off 58 students for trekking expedition to Sonamarg

G’bal: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal Saturday flagged off a group of 58 students (girls) for a trekking expedition to Sonamarg from Mini Secretariat here.
The student trekkers from various schools of the district in the age group of 17 and 19 years are scheduled to participate in the camp organized by Youth Services and Sports Ganderbal for a period of 5 days commencing from Saturday and culminating on 14th of Oct, 2020.
The trekking expedition for girls was arranged after successful completion of its first leg for boys.
While interacting with the students, the DC urged them to take advantage of the trip and said adventure, sports activities and studies invariably go hand-in-hand and plays an important role for the overall character development of every student and the same should be a way of life for every youth.
The DC appreciated the organizers and urged them to provide them enough guidance and ensure availability of emergency medicines to the trekkers during the camp.
Officials of the department were also present on the occasion.
