JKEDI meant for self reliance, empowerment of Youth: EDI Dir

Pampore: As a part of the ongoing phase third of ambitious ‘Back to Village Program’, Director Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), G.M Dar visited Shar Shali area of Khrew, Pulwama and interacted with locals and PRI representatives there to take stock of issues and concerns faced by them.
Addressing a large gathering there, Director JKEDI said the main objective of B2V3 is to reach out to people and connect them with the administration for efficient and smooth redressal of their grievances and issues.
Highlighting the need for making youth self reliant and empowered, he asked the youth to come forward and take benefits of various startup schemes implemented by JKEDI. He also made people aware about the importance of Startups, Entrepreneurship and self-employment initiatives being implemented by the institute.
Director JKEDI urged at least 5 educated youth from the area to come forward so that JKEDI can facilitate them in the journey of entrepreneurship and they can become role model for others in the society.
During the program, GM Dar also participated Gram Sabha and Mahilla Sabha in which discussions and deliberations on various issues and development plans of the area were held. Various delegations and individuals also called on the Director and raised several demands regarding their day to day matters pertaining to renovation of roads, up-gradation of school, better health services, community hall and other related issues. He assured them that all of these issues will be raised with concerned quarters and redressed on priority.
Director JKEDI urged upon people to stand up for their rights and take due benefits of welfare schemes launched by government form time to time. “It is very important for the people of the village to come forward and actively participate in decision making process so that people benefit from the development plans at the gross root level” Dar said.
During his visit, GM Dar also inaugurated a receiving station and playground for the locals. He also distributed Domicile certificates, blankets among beneficiaries and baby kits to mothers of new born baby girls.
Tehsildar Pampore, Block Development Officer, Khonmoh, officials of JKEDI, Women Development Corporation, other line departments and a large number of locals were also present on the occasion.
