Market checking intensified in Kupwara, Rs.19000 fine realised

Kupwara: District Administration Kupwara has intensified market checking in the district to ensure stabilization of rates and availability of essential commodities.
In this regard, Market Checking Squad, headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone Thursday inspected various markets of Kupwara town and realised a fine of Rs.19, 000 from 11 erring shopkeepers for violating the Food Safety and Standard Rules.
On the occasion the ADC said market checking is being intensified in all major towns including Kupwara, Handwara, Sogam, Langate and Tangdar to ensure stabilization of market rates and availability of essential commodities including vegetables.
He said shopkeepers should keep Government approved rate lists displayed in their shops.
