Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar on Thursday impressed upon the Divisional administration Kashmir to ensure round the clock facilities to devotees during the annual Urs Observance of Hazrat Khwaja Baha Ud Din Naqshband Bukhari (RA) at Khanqa-e-Naqashbandia Khwaja Bazar, Srinagar.
Sagar said the shrine is thronged by thousands of devotees throughout the year but the rush of the devotees rises exponentially during the Urs observance days hence making it imperative for the government to step up basic civic amenities and other security measures at the shrine. The shrine is the epicenter of faith of people and is thronged by devotees from across the valley and other places across J&K, he said adding “I take this opportunity to express my warm greetings to people on the auspicious Urs observances with a view that that the spiritual observances increase the prospects of peace and prosperity in J&K. The social life of Kashmiris is deeply imbued with the teachings of such Sufi saints like Hazrat Baha Ud Din Naqshband Bhukhri (RA),” he said.
The administration he said was duty bound to ensure hassle free Urs observance by providing round the clock transport facilities, drinking water and electricity supply at the shrines and the adjoining localities. He also urged the divisional administration to ensure all facilities to devotees to devotees on the annual Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Hamza Maqdoomi (RA) at Maqdoom Sahib Shrine, Srinagar. “I hope the administration will swing its men and machinery into action to ensure hassle free Urs observances. I hope the Urs observances will augur well for the furtherance of peace and prosperity in J&K,” he said.
