Srinagar: Several activities were Wednesday conducted under phase 3rd of government’s ambitious Back to Village programme at Panchayat halqa Nowgam-A and Nowgam-B, of Srinagar district.
At Panchayat halqa Nowgam-A, the Visiting Officer, Mushtaq Ahmad Rather conducted Ward Sabha during which several matters were put forth by the members to be forwarded to the concerned authorities.
He also listened to the peoples grievances some of which were redressed on the spot while the rest were forwarded to the concerned authorities for timely redressal.
The Visiting Officer on the occasion visited schools, banks and water storage tanks as per the schedule. He also distributed domicile certificates among the applicants.
At Panchayat halqa Nowgam-B, the Visiting Officer, Lateef Ahmad Mir gave a patient hearing to the peoples issues, demands and grievances and assured the local populace of addressing the same at an earliest.
He on the occasion distributed school kits among the eligible school going children at Boys Middle School, Bonpora Nowgam besides conducting Aadhar capturing.
The Visiting Officer also inaugurated several works including improvement of lane near Masjid Hamza, improvement of link road from 2 km’s main road to Iram lane, improvement of link road from main road to Wani mohalla and construction of link road near Masjid Noor at Nowgam (B).
Mir also identified a vacant building that earlier housed Government Primary School at Chiralipora and said the building can be renovated and put into some proper use like Primary Health Centre or Panchayat Ghar as per the local demand.
