Jammu: A Back to village 3 program was held Tuesday at Lower Narayana Panchayat of Khour Block. The program was presided over by Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak.
During the visit, the Director listened to the issues and demands raised by the locals including PRIs which mainly include shortage of power supply and scarcity of drinking water.
Some of the issues were redressed on the spot while the rest of the grievances and issues were conveyed to the concerned authorities for redressal.
The Director also distributed fruit plants to 300 beneficiaries @ 3 fruit plants per household under the Back Yard Plantation program of the Horticulture department on 90% subsidy.
Moreover, a mobile soil testing laboratory was made available at the venue by the department of Horticulture for on spot analysis of the soil samples to update farmers about the use of balanced dose of the fertilizers in their field.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Khour and BDC Chairman along with officers and officials of concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
