Shopian: Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Shopian, Gh Qadir Thursday chaired a meeting of bakery shop-keepers of district Shopian in his office at mini secretariat Arhama Shopian.
On the occasion Gh Qadir informed bakery shopkeepers of the district regarding the notification issued from the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India related to mandatory mentioning of best before date on every packet of sweets from Thursday.
He stressed upon them to follow the covid advisories issued by the government from time to time. While stating that food safety is closely linked with health, he instructed the bakery shop owners to keep their premises and surroundings clean as Practicing good hygiene and maintaining cleanliness are necessary for preparing safe food. They were also asked not to use inferior and adulterated raw material for making bread and sweets.
