Ensure timely distribution of the rabi inputs among the farmers: Dir Agri (K)

Srinagar: The Director Agriculture, Kashmir has asked the district officers and field functionaries of the department to ensure timely distribution of the rabi inputs among the farmers for hassle free agriculture operations ahead besides booking cent percent expenditure within the prescribed time period.
These directions were issued by the officer while reviewing the crop- status, up to date expenditure under Capex, progress on central sponsored schemes and availability and distribution of Rabi inputs, at an online meeting with all Chief Agriculture officers of the Kashmir Division Thursday.
While elaborating the future prospectus of honey production for uplifting the honey cottage industry in J&K, he said, under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, Central Government is expected to sanction a project for High Altitude Honey Mission. He urged upon the officers to mobilize their field staff and visit farmers` fields for educating farmers about the latest trends in modern agriculture.
Regarding importance of irrigation in the rain fed areas he directed the concern officers to reduce the area under rain fed cropping by providing a big support for the area to be brought under new irrigation initiatives by way of exploring community deep bore wells.
