270 ASIs promoted as SIs; 26 NGOs get grade promotion

Srinagar: Continuing with the Police Headquarters measures to provide promotion to the members of J&K Police the Director-General of Police Dilbag Singh issued promotion order in respect of 270 Assistant Sub-Inspector to the rank of Sub-Inspector in the Executive Police wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police and also granted grade promotion in respect of 26 other non-gazetted officers Wednesday.

The DGP has congratulated all the promoted personnel and impressed upon them to work with more dedication & devotion for the betterment and service of society in general and Police Department in particular. He has also congratulated the families of the promoted officers.

In order to boost the morale of the Police personnel and continuing with the endeavours to fast track the promotions under the guidance and supervision of Senior Police Officers, this year so far 6744 personnel ranging from constables to inspectors were promoted, by different Police Establishment of the Union Territory.

In Jammu and Kashmir Zones also, promotions in executive police were ordered. 133 Assistant Sub-Inspectors were promoted as Sub-Inspectors, 1398 Head Constables were promoted as Assistant Sub-Inspectors. Similarly 2399 Selection Grade Constables were promoted as Head Constables and 318 Constables were promoted as Selection Grade Constables.

J&K Police organizations Armed Police Wing and SDRF also issued various promotion orders this year. Three (03) Sub-Inspectors (Ministerial) of SDRF were promoted as Inspectors and 124 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, four (04) from SDRF and 120 from Armed Police were promoted as Sub-Inspectors. 402 Head Constables of SDRF and Armed Police were also promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspectors, similarly 1064 Selection Grade Constables and 558 Constables of Armed Police were promoted to the next rank. It has been endeavour of the Police Headquarter to promote the officers/officials in different ranks so as to boost their morale.
