Srinagar: A 14-year-old boy drowned in river Jhelum while taking a bath in Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday afternoon.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer that the boy drowned while taking a bath and his friends informed the passerby about the incident. “A few local youth jumped into the river to rescue the boy but couldn’t spot him,” the official said.
He said that police also reached the spot and launched a search operation to trace the boy.
