Trehgam’s Wali Mohd Mir a promising socio-political activist passes away

Srinagar: Wali Mohammad Mir a promising socio-political activist well known for his role in the welfare of the underprivileged sections of the society and development of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district passed away on Monday at the age of 110 years at his ancestral residence in Trehgam village of Kupwara district. People of the area recall his association with National Conference and erstwhile J&K Plebiscite Front. Mir’s death was widely condoled by people of all shades including political leaders and people of other walks of life. The condolence statements issued by political leaders and people of other walks life are detailed below :-
Altaf Bukhari: In his condolence message issued here on Monday , the J&K Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari termed Wali Mohammad Mir a renowned political activist of his area who during his lifetime worked tirelessly for the welfare of people in district Kupwara. “Late Mir would always be on toes for the public welfare issues till the fag end of his life. He passed after attaining an age of over 100 years and in most of his lifetime, he must have only worked for redressal of public grievances,” Bukhari said.
Apni Party President acknowledged the contributions of the deceased political leader and said efforts of Wali Mohd Mir for upliftment of economically underprivileged and downtrodden sections of the society shall be remembered for times to come.“I pray to Almighty Allah to bestow eternal peace to the departed soul and give endurance to the bereaved family, friends and acquaintances of the deceased to bear this irreparable loss,” he said.
Gh Hassan Mir :In his condolence statement issued here on Monday Senior Vice President J&K Apni Party Gh Hassan Mir termed Wali Mohammad Mir asocial activist and political stalwart of district Kupwara who he said contributed immensely for the socio poltical development in the district. Terming Wali Mohammad Mir’s demise a big loss to the people of Kupwara district Gh Hassan Mir prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this big loss.
Mir Saifullah : In his condolence statement issued here on Monday Mir Saifullah the senior National Conference leader and former Minister Mir Saifullah termed Wali Mohammad Mir a social activist and political stalwart of district Kupwara who he said contributed immensely for the socio poltical development of the district. Terming Wali Mohammad Mir’s demise a big loss to the people of Kupwara district Mir Saifullah prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this big loss.
Former Minister Mir Gh Qadir: In his condolence statement issued here on Monday Advocate Mir Gh Qadir described him a noble soul & a dedicated worker, who all along worked for the uplifment of poor & downtrodden people of his area.He said Wali Mohd Mir worked for the development of kupwara tirelessly throughout his life. “Efforts of Wali Mohd Mir for upliftment of economically underprivileged and downtrodden sections of the society shall be remembered for times to come”, said the former Minister and a close associate of the deceased political activist. Advocate Mir Gh Qadir also prayed for the eternal peace of departed soul & courage to his family members to bear this loss.
Former DG YS&S J&K Advocate Mir Jehangir : In his condolence statement issued here on Monday Advocate Mir Jehangir described him a noble soul & a dedicated worker, who all along worked for the uplifment of poor & downtrodden people of his area.He said Wali Mohd Mir worked for the development of kupwara tirelessly throughout his life. Advocate Jehangir Mir also prayed for the eternal peace of departed soul & courage to his family members to bear this loss.
Mir Javed of JKAP : In his condolence statement Advocate Mir Javed a senior functionary of Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) from Kupwara district termed Wali Mohd Mir a promising social activist of Trehgam area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. He said Wali Mohammad Mir was a social activist and political stalwart of district Kupwara who had contributed immensely for the socio political development in the district. Terming Wali Mohammad Mir’s demise a big loss to the people of Kupwara district,Advocate Javed Ahmad Mir prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this big loss.
