Srinagar: Police in Srinagar solved a theft case by arresting two accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property.
A police statement issued here on Saturday said “Police Station Khanyar on September received a complaint from one lady namely Shaista Irshad Jan wife of Irshad Ahmad resident of Nowshehra Srinagar that she came to attend Friday prayers at Dastageer sahab Khanyar & after entering the gate of shrine some unknown female thieves have stolen her Golden Bangle, which costs ₹1.20 lacs.Accordingly, case FIR No. 71/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Khanyar and investigation was set into motion”.
The statement further said that during the course of investigation, two suspected ladies identified as Kajlaan Khatoon and Salma both residents of Chachloora Magam were apprehended. “During questioning, officers learnt about their involvement in the commission of crime and on their disclosure stolen property was recovered from their possession. Further investigation is in progress”, the statement reads further.
