Srinagar/Sept,19: President Peoples’ Democratic Front (PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Saturday impressed upon the Jammu and Kashmir Government to take final call on eviction notices issued to former ministers and legislators only after assessing their security afresh as promised by Lt Governor himself in one of his recent statements.
In a statement issued here on Saturday Hakeem impressed upon the Jammu & Kashmir Government to take final calls on eviction notices issued to former ministers and former legislators only after reviewing their security afresh as promised by Lt Governor himself in view of the recent spurt in attacks on political workers across Kashmir.Pointing out that he himself has no house of his own in Srinagar and as such is vulnerable to security threats keeping in view an attack on him before Government brought him under heavy security cover many years ago, Hakeem said Government being the custodian of the life and property of all people irrespective of their affiliations to politics,bureaucracy, judiciary and journalism is duty bound to ensure that former ministers and legislators, retired bureaucrats, retired judges and other such people don’t become vulnerable to security threats in future. He exuded confidence that Government won’t take any action on eviction notices to former ministers and former legislators before reviewing their security afresh as promised by Lt Governor himself in one of his recent statements.
