Modern age is known for technology, politics, administration etc. Above all is the sphere of democracy. In almost all parts of the world, democratic forms of government have been established. There are about 193 members of general assembly members of UN organization. All these member countries have adopted democratic form of governance. But democratic nature of governance varies from region to region and country to country. In many parts of the world, there is only namely democracy in actual practice. Democracy is said to be; government “of the people, by people and for the people”. It is clear from above quoted ideals that a democratic country must be crisis free state. Unfortunately, in most of democratic countries the crisis of human rights violation is at peak. A democratic country is primarily responsible for the security of life and protection of the fundamental rights of its citizens. Unfortunately, in many democratic countries government cannot provide security to its citizens and violation of human rights does not end despite judicial checks. The above quotation, government of the people, by the people and for the people is general objective of a democratic government. Actually, democratic government provides a system of government and principles, which are adopted to govern the people of diverse religions, casts, ethnicities, cultures and different regional backgrounds. These are generally accepted and genuine principles to hold peace and the environment of brotherhood in the country between the people of different faiths. It must be known to everyone thatpeace in a country is the only way to progress in every sphere of life. Peace of a country is the only path of development. It is said that,” together we can build and divided we can destroy”. We have divided our people on the basis of religion, caste, creed, colour, region and culture. The quotation,”together we can stand and divided we can fall ” is not practiced. Democracy is actually governance of principles; especially secular democracy is a best form of government for people of all faiths. In a secular democratic environment, people of all the faiths are free to practice any religion with their conscience and will to practice. Democracy forbids a citizen to discriminate citizens against citizens on the basis of colour or regional background. Constitution of a country is the document to practice the principles of democracy. Here, Indian democracy is regarded as one of the lengthiest and strongest democracy. Exercise of democracy starts from a door of each household. All above the age of 18 years have right to take part in political affairs. Unfortunately, political environment of the India is showing different phases. One class of society tries to dominate another. People in power don’t like to create brotherhood environment. People having some influence try to get advantage through power and influence. This attitude of advantage and dominance created divisions among us.
Priority has to be on employment and social services as sound political environment alone can generate a conducive atmosphere for development at all levels. Respect to the ideals of the constitution , especially fundamental principles and directive principles is must as sound political environment is measured by the meters of peace, progress, employment opportunities , financial and economic development and stability in relations with the other countries .
It is true, democracy has given freedom to practice and propagate his/her religion. In modern technological era, social media is mostly used to propagate the teachings of religion. There is no need to oppose the opinion, if any other doesn’t take any interest in any other religion or the sect of religious principles. Religion is not practiced as a traditional inheritance, but the search of truth is motive for a purely religious person. People also study different religions of the world. Democracy of the country doesn’t have forbidden them to study or practice religion of their will. It is that secular political environment, which gives freedom to practice and propagate any religion. Unfortunately, the objectives of dominance and defeat spoiled our political environment. Religion became tool for the victory. It is true, many people achieved the heights of success on the basis of religion, but that ultimately showed bad consequences in democratic environment as many times it posed a threat to democracy because in that political environment government cannot provide security of life and protection of fundamental rights for each and every one . Many a times, it becomes the cause of human rights violation. If the situation becomes too much hostile, it might trigger huge divides. It is often said that,” politics is bad” but attitude of the people is to be blamed not the politics. Fact remains that attitude of the people shapes the institutions of the government for the welfare of the people. It is the politics, which provides security of life by actions against criminals through defense system and strong and independent judicial mechanism. A weakest person can stand against a strongest person in the court of law. It is that sound politics, which extends the facility of roads, electricity facilities, water drinking facilities etc, but, it is also true that bad politics disturbs every sphere of life, divides people, and becomes a means to loot public funds etc. Not only this much but bad politics is also the cause of human rights violations and fragile peace in the country. They are the people, who wish to run the government for their own conveniences, but not the welfare of the people as per the ideals constitution. They while in power don’t show any respect to fundamental principles and directive principles of the state policy. As the constitution of the country was shaped for the welfare of the people and stabilization of peace. Focus has to be on issues like unemployment, underdevelopment, economic growth, and private sector expansion for addressing the concerns in shortest period of time. Unfortunately, division of the people in the name of religion, region and culture treads the path of development . In conclusion, we can say sound political environment must be created for the purposes of mutual brotherhood.
