Drug peddler with contraband substance arrested in Ang : Police

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police Friday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and have recovered contraband substance from his possession.A police statement issued here on Friday reads as under :
In its continuous efforts against social evils, on a specific information SHO Ashmuqam Mudasir Nazar under the supervision of SDPO Phalgham laid a Naka at Siligam Ashmuqam and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01V-4077 and during search of the vehicle six bags containing Poppy Straw (Fukki) about 52 kgs recovered from the car.In this connection driver of the vehicle namely Kursheed Ahmad Dukdoo S/O Habib ullah Dukdoo Resident of Bijbehara arrested and Vehicle seized. In this connection FIR No. 104/2020 under section 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Ashmuqam and further investigation into the matter has been taken up.
