SSP Awantipora holds Police Public interaction meeting at PS Awantipora

Awantipora: As a part of its public outreach program, police public interaction meeting was facilitated at Police Station Awantipora while following social distancing norms and other protocols.
The meeting was chaired by SSP Awantipora Shri Tahir Saleem–JKPS accompanied by SDPO Awantipora and SHO PS Awantipora. The interaction meeting was attended by religious leaders, traders, Numbardars, Chowkidars, transporters and other civil society members of Awantipora area.
During the meeting, participants raised various issues including the problem of drug abuse, dumping of garbage & construction material on roads, traffic jamming and other problems faced by the general public which were heard patiently by the chairing officers.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Awantipora said that police will take strong action against the drug peddlers, its cultivators and other people involved in other criminal activities. Referring the demands, SSP Awantipora assured the participants that their genuine issues pertaining to police will be resolved on priority and the issues pertaining to civil administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.
The main aim of conducting such interactions is to solicit suggestions and support from the people for better policing.
The participants appreciated the Awantipora police for drive against drug peddlers and cultivators. They also hailed the police for facilitating public interaction programmes and assured their full support & cooperation in curbing the menace of social crimes and in maintaining law & order besides, cooperation in adherence to the guidelines as well as health advisories in view of ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
