Srinagar: Seeking Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, the family members of a PhD scholar Hilal Ahmad Dar appealed to Director General of Police(DGP) and general people to help trace him.

Hilal, a PhD scholar of Kashmir University, had gone missing on June 14 during trekking expedition to Naranag alongwith friends in central Kashmir district of Ganderbl.
The other trekkers on their return from Naranag informed the police that Hilal returned to base camp after failing to trek high altitude. However , when  he did not return home and a missing report was lodged.
Police, Army and locals joined the searches but could not find him.
Later, police claimed that Hilal has joined militancy, which was rejected by the family members.
Today, over a dozen family members and others, mostly women, wearing masks and keeping physical distance,  staged a peaceful protest at Press Enclave near here demanding CBI probe.
Holding placards which reads “ We demand CBI probe, We want justice, Hilal has no connection with militancy, Army and police offered help”.

However, they said Hilal remained untraced and demanded CBI probe. We also appeal to DGP, central government and common people to help in tracing Hilal, who was never involved in any unlawful activity.
