Srinagar/Sept, 13: Seeking restoration of old pension scheme (OPS), the employees working under new pension scheme (NPS) held one day’s hunger strike on 13/09/20 across the country. One day hunger strike call was given by National Old Pension Restoration United Front (NOPRUF) under the leadership of its national president BP Rawat to mount pressure on government for restoration of old pension scheme (OPS). Accordingly the NPS employees across the country supported the call and held on day hunger strike in demand of restoration of old pension scheme. Employees were seen on social holding banners with different slogans for the demand of Old Pension Scheme.
Like other parts of the country NOPRUF_JK, under the leadership of UT President Gulzabair Daing, also held one day’s hunger strike to make the call successful. Various NOPRUF representatives from Jammu and Kashmir including Azad Hussain, Prashant Sharma, Ashiq Jaral, Altaf Bukhari, Surjeet Singh and other representatives coordinated the NPS employees to to make the programme successful. The hunger strike call was observed by thousands of NPS employees in UT Jammu and Kashmir. Photographs of employees holding placards with different slogans demanding old pension scheme were circulated on social media. Pertinently NPS employees are demanding restoration of old pension scheme for government employees. NOPRUF is a national level banner representing NPS employees for the said demand.
