Jan Abhiyan: Labour Deptt organises awareness prog at Tangdar

Kupwara: Labour Department Kupwara Saturday conducted an Awareness program for Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) at Karnah.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Karnah, Dr. Bilal Mohiddin Bhat was Chief Guest on the occasion.
Assistant Labor Commissioner (ALC) provided thorough awareness to the participants about labour laws and highlighted various schemes of the government in vogue for workers welfare and upliftment.
The SDM also spoke on the occasion and directed the workers to register themselves with the department to get benefits under various welfare schemes.
Meanwhile, SDM distributed cheques worth Rs.2, 65,500 among 33 workers under Education Assistance scheme in presence of ALC.
Earlier, the SDM inspected various camps conducted by Revenue, Agriculture, Social Welfare, ICDS, RDD and Power departments in the sub division under “Jan Abhiyan/Awami Muhim” program recently launched by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara across the district.
It was informed that 120 Pahari speaking certificates, 160 Domicile, 40 Income, 10 RBA and 05 ST certificates have been issued by the Revenue department during the Jan Abhiyan camp.
Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Kupwara, Arshad Bhat, BDC Chairpersons of Tangdar and Teetwal, PRIs, and MGNREGA/BEACON workers participated in the program.
