Jammu-Akhnoor Road Project: Div Com discusses alignment issue of package 1

Jammu :  Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma Friday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to discuss alignment issues of Package 1 of Jammu- Akhnoor four-lane road project.

The meeting had threadbare discussion on alignment issues from Bhagwati Nagar Chowk to Canal head- a portion of the package 1 of the project.

The engineers of NHIDCL apprised the Div Com about the proposed alignments for final approval. All the officers gave their valuable suggestions for the finalization of alignment from Bhagwati Nagar Chowk to Canal Head.

It was informed in the meeting that there will be a flyover from Bhagwati Nagar Chowk to Canal Head. The Div Com asked the concerned officers to conduct visits at the site to assess the shifting of utilities, structures, land acquisition requirements and other issues for final approval.

The meeting was attended by General Manager NHIDCL, Additional District Development Commissioner Jammu, Chief Engineer Irrigation and flood control, Chief Engineer JPDCL, Additional SP Traffic and other concerned officers.

Earlier, Divisional Commissioner Jammu in a meeting with doctors, officers from Health and Medical Education department besides other concerned departments reviewed COVID control measures.

The meeting was attended by IGP Jammu Mukesh Singh, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan, SSP Jammu Shirdar Patil, Principal Medical College Dr. Nasib Chand Digra, Medical Superintendent Dr. Dara Singh, Joint Director Industries Jammu, Nodal Officer Covid -19 Satish Sharma and other senior officers of concerned departments.

Threadbare discussions were held on various issues like supply of oxygen gas, position  of ventilators and smooth functioning of electric system in the Government Medical College, availability of beds in Jammu hospitals dedicated to Covid-19 and others.

Joint Director Industries was directed to make liaison with the oxygen gas supplier units and ensure uninterrupted supply of oxygen to the hospitals in Jammu.
