Inter Zone distt level Football competition concludes at G’bal

Ganderbal: Three days District level inter Zonal Football competition concluded Friday at Madri Meharban Stadium Ganderbal.
The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal was Chief Guest on the occasion and the competition was organized by the District Youth Services and Sports, Ganderbal (DYSSO).
The tournament was organized as a part of Annual Calendar of Activities by DYSSO, Ganderbal under the patronage of Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General Youth Services & Sports, J&K.
As many as 192 students under all age groups from three sports zones of district Ganderbal participated in the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC appreciated the initiative of the department in organizing sports events in the district and urged upon the players to vigorously participate in sports and athletic activities apart from pursuing their academic and curricular activities to bring laurels to the district.
He also assured every possible sports facility from district administration to boost sports activities in the district.
Zone Ganderbal was declared winner under all age groups in final matches which was played with Zone Hariganwan (U14) and Zone Thulamela (U17 and U19).
Later, the DC also distributed mementos and medallions among the players of the winning team.
DYSSO, Ganderbal Sheikh Shafqat lqbal, Incharge Activity and other officials of DYSS Ganderbal were also present on the occasion.
