Qayoom Wani contests Govt’s seriousness in responses to demands of casual labourers , daily wagers, contingent paid employees, all other temporary employees

Srinagar: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JK CSF) Abdul Qayoom Wani on Thursday expressed anguish over the “non seriousness” of the Jammu and Kashmir Government in addressing the demands of casual labourers, daily wagers, contingent paid workers ,HDF employees and all other temporary employees working in various government departments despite the fact that they have been demanding regularisation of their services, payment of their pending wages and implementation of Minimum Wages Act in Jammu and Kashmir. Reminding the Government that they have desperately come on roads in yesteryears to protest denial of their rights Wani alleged that Govt seems least bothered about the plight of thousands of families attached with these employees and their issues are in a standstill position till date.
Alleging that poor lot of casual laborers, daily wagers and the others falling in the similar category have been pushed to the wall by the govt which does not take any step for accepting their genuine demands. He said they protest to press for resolution of their demand of regularisation and implementation of Minimum Wages Act in Jammu and Kashmir.
Wani said that JK CSF supports the genuine struggle of these employees who face difficulties in keeping the civic amenities available both to the general public and as well as the the people at the helm of the affairs but themselves face the problem of regularization, meager pay, delay in the release of salary and the hunger at times which is intolerable for any conscious keeping society. Wani urged the govt to resolve all the genuine demands of these casual labourers , daily wagers, contingent paid workers and in particular the demand of minimum wages act a right given to them by Supreme Court of the country . Wani said if the demands are not met JK CSF will hit streets in support of these employees.
