Srinagar: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JK CSF) Ab Qayoom Wani on Wednesday voiced his serious concern over reports about authorities denying compensation to the farmers of central Kashmir’s Budgam district effected by ring road project only to prompt them to raise their grievances before Lt Governor Manoj Sinha in Budgam .
In a statement issued here on Wednesday Wani said that farmers are the back bone of our economy and as such deserve to be respected and heard by the authorities. He said unfortunately one thousand families of Budgam are suffering and their land is being forcibly acquired for ring Road project. He alleged that unfortunately the farmers hit by land acquisition process for ring road project were not allowed by distt adminstration Budgam to meet LG Manoj sinha during his recent Budgam visit. Wani said these affected farmers have approached JKCSF office bearers and apprised them about the indifferent attitude of distt adminstration Budgam.
Wani said that JKCSF is committed to raise forcefully it’s voice against any kind of injustice with people of jammu and kashmir.
Wani urged Chief Secretary to take strong note of it and listen to the grievances of effected farmers of Ring road .
JKCSF assured affected farmers full support in their struggle for redressal of their long pending demand over compensation for the land acquired for ring road project .
