Srinagar/Sep,10 : Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) Gazi Abdul Aziz stands with NPS employees for their struggle to restore Old Pension Scheme (OPS).
In a statement issued here on Thursday he said the demand for restoration of old pension scheme is a legitimate demand of employees, and every representative of employees should support a genuine demand of employees. He has given a full support to national level one day hunger strike call given by NPS employees on 13/09/20 to press the government for restoration of old pension scheme.

Chairman JKTJAC said that a suitable pension for the employees after retirement is the responsibility of government, however NPS (the new pension scheme) seems not good for the employees for their dependent period of their post-retirement life.

He said that if an MLA or MP is to get a pension from the government even if he would have not remained in government for more than a month, even some of them draw pension from two places, why those employees who devote their whole life to the department are exempted from pension.

He NPS an injustice with employees and urged upon authorities to restore OPS for the larger interest of employees and their families. He also supported the national level one day hunger strike on September 13 called by the representatives of NPS employees.
