Srinagar,Jammu/Sep,8 : National Old Pension Restoration United Front under the leadership of it’s national president B P Rawat has called for one day’s hunger strike on September,13 through out the country. The aim of hunger strike is to urge the government for restoration of old pension scheme for NPS employees. Lacs of NPS employees across the country are expected to go for hunger strike on the said date. Pertinently NPS (a new pension scheme) was implemented in 2004 in centre and in Jammu and Kashmir it was implemented in 2010 after winding up the old pension scheme (OPS). Not happy with new pension scheme, the employees working under NPS are demanding restoration of old pension scheme for all employees and claiming that NPS is not a secure pension scheme for their post-retirement life.

National Old Pension Restoration United Front Jammu and Kashmir (NOPRUF_JK) under the leadership of its UT President Gulzabair Daing has appealed all the NPS employees of Jammu & Kashmir to observe upcoming one day’s hunger strike programme on September 3 in support of restoration of OPS in order to make it successful.

Through a press release Gulzabair Daing has informed all those NPS employees who are desirous to observe one day’s hunger strike would take photographs while holding the placards with written slogans like “NOPRUF On Hunger Strike”, “One Nation One Pension”, “Restore Old Pension” etc. Then the employees would share same photograps on social media sites.

“We hope that the national level one day’s hunger strike call would definitely strengthen the voice of NPS employees for restoration of old pension scheme”, he added.
