Kupwara: A soldier was killed while two others received injuries in a ceasefire violation at Hardul sector in Nowgam area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.
A top official said a soldier was killed on spot while two others received injuries after Pakistani army fired heavy mortars along the Line of control (LoC) in Nowgam sector.
He said that the Army man died on spot while two others were evacuated to health centers for treatment and are out of danger. Defence spokesman in Srinagar, Colonel Rajesh Kalia said that Pakistan initiated an unprovoked Ceasefire Violation (CFV) along the Line of Control in Nowgam Sector, Baramulla in the morning by firing Mortars and other weapons.
“Befitting response was given. One soldier laid down his life in the line of duty. Two soldiers sustained injuries and have been evacuated to 92 Base Hospital. Their condition is stable,” he said
