Power Infra witnessing major augmentation in Kathua

Kathua: With completion of several projects, District Kathua is witnessing a major augmentation of power infrastructure.
District Development Commissioner, O.P. Bhagat, Friday reviewed the achievements under various Power Sector schemes and projects here at a meeting of senior functionaries of the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation Ltd.
DDC reviewed the work wise progress of the projects under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), PMDP, IPDS, RAPDRP schemes and Languishing projects during the meeting .
It was appraised in the meeting that 3 projects under Languishing Scheme have been completed and 4 others are at various stages of execution.
Under DDUGJY sub-stations have been created at Bhoond and Marheen while work on sub-station at Duggan is in progress. Under PMDP(R) sub-station at Nanan has been completed, while work on sub stations at Dhar Mahanpur and Tandi is at finishing stage.
Under IPDS sub-station at Billawar has been commissioned while work on sub- station at Taraf Pajwal is in progress. Under PMDP Industrial, 5 sub-stations are at completion stage.
The meeting was appraised that all the projects shall be completed by March, 2021.
The DDC directed the executing agencies to accelerate the pace of the execution of the projects and ensure adherence to timelines in completion, submission of project completion reports and utilization certificates.
The Executive Engineers were directed to ensure regular field visits for proper monitoring of the projects. Besides, 100% metering, check on unscheduled cuts and realization of revenue targets was also stressed upon.
Among others, the meeting was attended by SE, JKPDCL Kathua Karam Chand, CPO Kathua Uttam Singh, Executive Engineers, JKPDCL, O&M, Kathua, Project Wing, Jammu and STD Division- III Kathua.
