Srinagar: District Police Srinagar on Friday claimed that it has resolved the Pandach militant attack case reported on May 20 this year during which two BSF soldiers of 37 Bn were killed.
In a statement issued here on Friday Police recalled that it had arrested five uncategorized militants of ISJK who helped in transporting, logistics, planning and executing the attack, in case FIR no 48/2020 u/s 302, 395 IPC, sections 7/25, 7/ 27 Arms Act , sections 16, 18, 19, 23 ULAP Act of Police Station Soura.
The statement said that during further of investigation, four vehicles were detained which includes two private ambulances functioning at SKIMS, a bike and a scooty, adding that approval for seizure of the above vehicles was sought from the DGP Dilbagh Singh. Disclosing that DGP Dilbagh Singh on Friday this week accorded approval for seizure of the above vehicles, the police in it’s statement said that while the ambulance JK01AD0915 was used to transport the militants from Bijbehara to Pandach, Srinagar, the Bike no JK01AH2989 and Scooty no JK01V 8288 were used to carry out the attack and escape after looting of weapons from the injured policemen. “Ambulance JK01AF 9417 was used to transport the militants back to Bijbehara from Srinagar” the statement readers.
The police statement said “in an encounter at Zoonimar Srinagar on June 21 this year three militants including Mohsin R/o Anchar, Soura and Shaqoor R/o Qamarwari, Srinagar were killed and they were involved in BSF killing/weapon snatching case”, adding that “then in Waghama, Bijbehara, on 30/06/2020, in another encounter two militants of ISJK including Yawar R/o Hathigam Sirgufawara(involved in Pandach BSF case) were killed “.
Saying that “finally on July 2 this year, ISJK Commander Zahid Das R/o Waghama Bijbehara who was also the mastermind of Pandach attack and Bijbehara attack in which one child and a CRPF man were martyred, was also killed in an encounter with police and CRPF at Malabagh, Nigeen, Srinagar.
“The categorized militants of ISJK involved in the attack have also been neutralized in two separate encounters at Zadibal, Srinagar and Hatigam, Bijbehara and looted weapons of BSF jawans have also been recovered”, the statement reads.
