Srinagar/Sep,5 : National Conference Vice President and former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that Urdu alone should have allowed to continue to be the official language in Jammu & Kashmir as otherwise what is the justification of leaving out Punjabi,Gojri and Pahadi.
Taking to micro blogging social networking site twitter Omar wrote “they should have left well enough alone but having decided to add more languages & include Hindi, Dogri & Kashmiri to the list of official languages of J&K what is the justification for leaving out Punjabi, Gojri & Pahadi?”.It may be mentioned here that Urdu had been the only official language even before 1947 when India attained freedom from the clutches of colonial rule of britishers.
