Srinagar: Continuing with an aim to provide more and more welfare measures for police personnel and to give financial assistance to meet their urgent needs, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh sanctioned welfare loan in favour of 343 personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police. Welfare relief has also been granted in favour of fifteen needy personnel. The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
“As per the PHQ order No. 2368 of 2020 welfare loan/relief of Rs.3.54 crore has been sanctioned in favour of 343 police personnel” reads a statement issued from Police Headquarters on Friday , adding that “among the 343 police personnel 48 personnel and their dependents are suffering from different ailments have been provided loan and relief of rupees 60.50 lakh for self-treatment and treatment of their dependents”.
The statement also said that Rs 2.7 Crore have been sanctioned to 207 personnel to meet the expenses of their marriage, adding that “79 personnel have also been provided welfare loan of rupees 78.50 lakh for the marriage of their dependents”.
DGP, according to the statement also sanctioned Rsone lakh each in favour of seven police personnel in different ranks to meet the expenses of their wards on technical and higher education. “Rupees fifty thousand each has also been sanctioned in favour of two police personnel to meet the expenses on Circumcision and Mundan ceremony of their wards” reads the statement.
Welfare loan/relief is sanctioned in favour of Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel to meet the expenses of different natures including self-treatment, treatment of dependents, higher/technical education of wards, self-marriage and marriage of wards, circumcision/yognopavit of son, Says the statement, adding that “the loan sanctioned to the Police personnel is refundable and is recovered in monthly installments from their salaries”.
