Jammu/Aug,29 : After remaining shut for four consecutive days the traffic on Jammu-Srinagar highway was on Saturday morning partially restored with traffic police authorities allowing Kashmir bound vehicles to move from Ramban areas to their destinations in valley.

Traffic police officials said “though traffic was on Saturday morning allowed from Ramban to Kashmir valley but the road washed away by a mudslide at Dalwas is yet to cleared. However landslides have been cleared from Marog, Digdol, Monkey Morh, Cafeteria Morh, Mompassi and Panthial.”
Travelers moving to valley while confirming the partial restoration of the traffic said “Only Kashmir-bound vehicles stranded at different vulnerable points on Ramban-Banihal track were allowed to move to their destinations”, adding that ” vehicles are moving slowly due to slippery condition of the road.” The official of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) carrying out the road clearance operation on the highway said “The men and machinery are continuing round the clock road clearance operation to completely restore the highway and particularly the stretch at Dalwas.”
