Srinagar: Kashmir based lawyer sends Legal Notice to editor-in-chief of “Sudharshan News” Suresh Chavhanke for uploading a Promo of his controversial show regarding the muslims of India qualifying prestigious UPCS examination. Advocate Umer Rashid Wani of Ganderbal has called upon the editor-in-chief of Sudharshan News to desist from airing the controversial program as it is defaming the prestigious institution of UPSC and has a potential to disturb communal harmony.

Wani while talking to Kashmir Horizon said those who try to divide people and target a weaker section of society should be put behind bars.He said we believe in judiciary and will take him to court room if required. Earlier Chavhanke had tweeted a trailer of his upcoming show, which he claimed was an “expose” on the “infiltration of Muslims” in the Civil Services with the hashtag ‘UPSC Jihad’ on August 26.

In the video, he called those passing out of Jamia’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) and clearing the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) as “Jamia ke Jihadi”. “How has the number of Muslim IPS (Indian Police Service) and IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officers increased recently? What will happen if ‘Jamia ke jihadi’ rise to positions of authority in the country?” Suresh Chavhanke asked.

The Indian Police Service (Central) Association on Thursday condemned a promotional video posted by Sudarshan News Editor-in-chief Suresh Chavhanke which targeted members of the Muslim community joining India’s civil services. Jamia Millia Islamia Thursday wrote to the Union Education Ministry asking them to take action against Sudarshan News channel and its editor-in-chief Suresh Chavhanke for “tarnishing” the image of the university. Meanwhile several group and individuals while taking to social media have demanded action against news channel and it’s editor-in-chief who is trying to divide people and target a section of society.
