J&K Awami Itehad Party hits out at JK Admin over abolition SHGs of engineers

Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Awami Itehad Party Thursday in statement came down heavily on present dispensation for making a mockery out of miseries of employees’ fraternity. Stating strong resentment over the inequitable treatment meted out to protesting employees scores of whom have not been paid for years all together, party leadership expressed solidarity with the employee fraternity of Jammu & Kashmir and people at large.
“The manner in which every disenfranchising move is being woefully institutionalized would have far reaching implications and Government of the day must shun their colonial despotism, wake up to the miseries of common masses”, said Party Spokesperson Sheeban Ashai.
The statement further said that abolition of self help groups for engineers, mining contracts, making business community suffer, losses worth thousands of crores, snatching away livelihood of contractual lecturers have been hallmarks of development for current regime post August 5th. “The inhumane fashion in which the Government is devilishly ignoring just demands of employee fraternity is for all to witness” the statement further reads adding that “thousands of causal labors, daily wagers, need based seasonal workers have been peacefully demanding regularization and implementation of Minimum Wages Act, along with release of their pending wages.
Saying that scores of these employees have completed decades of service in their respective departments and successive Government’s failures to address their just demands escape every logical explanation, the statement says “it is astounding that casual labors associated with Tourism department have not been paid any wages since 2014. One can only imagine the problems faced by the employees and their families”.
The AIP Spokesperson also said in the statement that despite putting in efforts and working tirelessly round the clock for their department’s, denying them their hard earned wages is beyond shameful. Awami Itehad Party in the statement reiterated its support to employees fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir and sought direct intervention of present day Lt Governor for resolving their just issues. “AIP leadership ingeminated that party would not under any circumstances remain silent over Government’s policy of rubbing salt over wounds inflicted on common people, party reprimanded current regime to mend ways before it’s all too late”, the statement further reads.
