Kulgam Police arrests a drug peddler, contraband substance recovered

Kulgam: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Kulgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Officers at a checkpoint established at Ahmadabad DH Pora intercepted an individual identified as Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Assadullal Sheikh resident of Ahmadabad Kulgam. During checking officers were able to recover 05 grams of Heroin like substance from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to Police Station D H Pora where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 136/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station DH Pora and investigation in the matter has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace as reiterated in our community meetings.
