Srinagar : A live grenade was recovered and defused by the security forces near the gunfight site in orchards of Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.
The grenade was recovered eight days after the gunfight broke out between the forces and militants in the area in which three militants were killed.
Officials said locals in Kreeri found a live grenade in orchards on Tuesday afternoon and approached the police immediately.
An official said a joint team of 29 RR, Police rushed to the spot along with Bomb Disposal Squad and defused the grenade.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Abdul Qayoom also confirmed that a live grenade was found from the encounter site and was later defused
