COVID claims nine more lives in J&K, toll 629

Srinagar: COVID-19, a deadly virus, Sunday claimed nine more lives in Jammu and Kashmir, thus taking the toll of deaths due to the virus to 629 in the Union Territory.

Officials told the news agency KNO that among nine deaths, four deaths were reported from Baramulla, two each from Ganderbal, Jammu and one from Srinagar.

An official from Baramulla said that a 70-year-old man from Hygam Baramulla who was admitted on 14 August with bilateral Pneumonia and an 85-year-old man from Puthkhah Baramulla who was admitted on 17 August died at GMC Baramulla on Sunday.

He added that a 70-year-old man from Maqam Baramulla who was admitted on 25 August died at SMHS while as a 65-year-old man from Sangri Colony Baramulla who was admitted with diabetes and hypertension died on Sunday at around 2:50 pm at CD hospital on Sunday.

An official from Ganderbal said that a 70-year-old woman Wayil Ganderbal who was admitted on 21 August in SKIMS Soura and another 65-year old lady from Ganderbal who was admitted in SMHS on 22 August died on Sunday.

An official from GMC Jammu said that a man and woman from Jammu district who were undergoing treatment at GMC Jammu from last few days died on Sunday.

An official from Srinagar said that a 55-year-old woman from Rainawari who was admitted on 09 August died at SKIMS Soura on Sunday.

With nine more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 629 including 582 from Kashmir division and 47 from Jammu division—(KNO)
