Awantipora Police arrests a drug peddler

Awantipora: Police in a recent action against drug dealings in Awantipora have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance and cash from his possession. A police statement issued here on Saturday reads as under :-
Officers during night patrolling at Reshipora Bund intercepted an individual identified as Azad Ahmad Parray resident of Katipora Charsoo while he was riding on a Motorcycle bearing registration number PB08CN-3596.
During search officers were able to recover 500 grams of charas (Powder) and cash amount Rs 15,500 (Fifteen thousand five hundred only) from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station Awantipora, where he remains in custody. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 112/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Police has resolved to deal robustly with drug peddlers.
