Traders of major business hub demand enhancement of working hours

Srinagar: Assuring full support to implement Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), traders of Karan Nagar , a major business hub in Srinagar, demanded enhancement of working hours on daily basis, a police spokesman said on Saturday.

However, the traders have been directed to wear masks, gloves and use sanitizer besides keep physical distance.

He said that a police-public meeting was held at police station Karan Nagar where representative of traders and senior police officers discussed various issues.

During the meeting traders were urged to ensure wearing of masks, gloves and use of sanitizer to prevent further spread of coronavirus. Besides they were asked to ensure physical distance by shopkeepers and customers and follow SOPs issued by the administration.

The representatives of traders assured that all instructions issued by the administration will be implemented in letter and spirit.

However, they demanded enhancement of time period for keeping the shops open and opening of shops on daily basis for full day time.

Spokesman said police officer assured traders that the issued raised by them during the meeting will be forwarded to concerned authorities for early redressal.
