Srinagar: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum (JK CSF) Ab Qayoom Wani on Friday virtually issued a a calling attention notice to stake holders of the education sector particularly private schools towards the education sector in general and particularly private schools asking them adhere to mission guidelines and reforms in the prevailing circumstances.
In a statement issued here on Friday JK Wani impressed upon Jammu and Kashmir Government, all the Private School owners and other stakeholders to implement the mission guidelines in letter and spirit and not to forget that right to Education should have no self implicated parameters that deprive the progeny of common man of his right.
Wani Said that one and all must know it that the prime locations in Jammu and Kashmir are spared for these private educational institutions on minimal rent on lease only in the name of education which otherwise could generate economy for the high profit public sector projects of J& K.Wani took a dig on the stakeholders of these ‘high profile’ private schools and alleged that they were supposed to keep 25% reservations for the free education of poor, BPL, down trodden and the orphans but on the ground it was never implemented.” It is unfortunate and ironical that these private schools have now deprived even the middle class progeny by way of introducing interview scheme to first generation learners and their parents which is against law of nature. “How come a child can be borne-learnt and how every parent can be deemed as literate”, Wani said, adding that “interviewing parents is a humiliation to them in particular and the society in general”. He said instead this trend amounts to corporate theory which goes very much against the baisic concept of education and schooling.
Wani expressed surprise that managements of these private schools make much hype of so called cream products in results but never put in public domain the list of BPL students and orphans they admit to keep the mission up. He said such an approach proves that these schools never bother about education for all but believe in money minting.
Wani said JKCSF is keeping a close eye on the admission policy and working of these schools with regard to the mission of establishing these schools in Jammu and Kashmir on prime locations on minimal rent on lease.
Wani asked the stakeholders to revive and reform education and schooling systems to ensure that common children and their parents are benefited in Jammu and Kashmir. He also wafnsx that JK CSF is going to make public the activities of these private schools via an RTI in near future
