Missing Bemina scholar’s family stages another protest, seek whereabouts of their son

Srinagar: Family members of a missing Bemina youth, Friday staged another protest here to seek whereabouts of their missing son, Protesters appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay, to help them trace their missing son.
The protesting family members of a Phd. Scholar from Bemina area of Srinagar said that it has been more than two months since their son, who had gone to Gangbal Lake in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, along with his friends for trekking, went missing. They said the mysterious disappearance of their son has made them apprehensive about his safety.
Holding placards which read “all hopes on new LG, IG sir help” Family members of missing youth gathered at Press Enclave this afternoon and staged a protest to seek whereabouts of their missing kin. The family members of Hilal have been protesting every week to seek the whereabouts of their son.
It may be recalled that Hilal, 27, a PHD Scholar from Ibrahim Colony Bemina, went missing after he went trekking to Gangabal Lake along with his five other friends on June 14 this year. Though all his friends returned home, but Hilal didn’t. Since then, Hilal’s all relatives have been moving from pillar to post to seek whereabouts of their son.
Earlier, police had said that Hilal had joined militancy. But top officials from the police had said there was no concrete evidence and proof to declare Hilal as a militant and that his name has not been added to the list of active militants. IGP Kashmir has already declared that there was no active militant from Srinagar district in any of the militant outfits, which signifies that Hilal’s name is not among the categorized militants, yet
