Art of O P Sharma displayed on World Photography day

Jammu: The photography art works of O P Sharma, a well known photographer and painter of Jammu (J&K) have been displayed in Online Group Photography Exhibition organized by Photo Asian in collaboration with Civil Services Officers’ Institute (CSOI) to commemorate World Photography Day on 19th August, 2020. Sh. Mukesh Singh IPS, Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone was the Chief Guest for the opening of the exhibition. Mukesh Singh appreciated the organizers for hosting the show and provioding a platform to the photographers to showcase their talent through this exhibition. He also complimented senior photographer Naresh Sharma, curator of the photography exhibition.
It may be mentioned here that O P Sharma, born in 1954 at Kot, Jammu Tawi (J&K), is a working photographer and painter. He is associated with art & cultural activities. He is founder Director of J&K Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu and running it for the last 21 years. Through JKCCA he has conducted a number of art, culture and literary programs including national and international art camps/ workshops and art exhibitions. His solo and group- shows of photography and painting have been held at different places in the country, like Solo Shows at College of Art, Vallabh Vidyanagar; LKA Gallery, Ahmedabad; Gujjar Charitable Trust, Jammu, 1990, 92 to 98, 2000 to 2004; Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar; Rabinder Bhawan, New Delhi; Abhinav Art Gallery, Jammu; Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur and MKB College, Dehradun and 11 group shows in different parts of the country. 1st and 3rd National Exhibitions of Photography by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi; 2nd All India Exhibition of Photography by All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society, New Delhi, Exhibitions by IAFA, Amritsar; by UPLKA, Lucknow, 2010; 1st Photography Exhibition JKAACL, Exhibition by WWF J&K Chapter, 2000. He has been honoured with Hon’ble Mention Award by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 1995; Awarded by India Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar, 2005, 2009; 1st Award by WWF J&K Chapter, Jammu 2000 and International Excellence Award by ‘Snehil’, an organization of Dehradun (Uttrakhand). The participating phot- artists from different cities including New Delhi, Haryana, Uttrakhan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kolkata, Jammu & Kashmir and several other parts of the country .
