Online training prog for Forest officers on FRCL begins

Srinagar: The 6 day specialized online in-service training program on Forestry Related Central Legislations (FRCL) for Divisional Forest Officers and Range Officers.

The training program was inaugurated by Dr. Mohit Gera, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) who was also Chief guest on the occasion.

He advised trainees to take full advantage of training and encouraged them to interact with experts. He also asked them to provide feedback so that future training modules will be improved accordingly.

The training program is being jointly organized by Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department and Central Academy for State Forest Service, Dehradun (CASFOS).

The specialized training module intends to update knowledge of Forest Officers on forestry related central legislations which have become applicable to J&K pursuant to enactment of J&K Re-organization Act.

Coordinator Training Pradeep Wahule, IFS from CASFOS said the forest officers shall receive lectures on Indian Forest Act, Wildlife Protection Act, Biodiversity Act, Indian Penal Code and Forest Conservation Act. He said the module will help in better enforcement of forest laws in the Jammu and Kashmir.

More than 40 participants from North and Srinagar circles are attending the said training programme and the training will cover all rest of forest circles of Jammu and Kashmir in a phased manner.

The inaugural session was attended by R.P. Singh IFS Director Forestry Education Dehradun, Dr. Suneesh Buxy, IFS DIG (RT) – MOEFCC, Rabi Kumar APCCF J&K, Kunal Satyarthi IFS, Principal CASFOS Dehradun, Irfan Rasool Wani IFS, Conservator of Forests North Circle and Irfan Ali Shah IFS, Conservator of Forests Working Plan.
