JK Cong tributes Rajiv Gandhi on his 76th birth anniversary

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Thursday paid rich tributes to Former Prime Minister (Bharat Ratna) Rajiv Gandhi on his 76th birth anniversary.
The Party described the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi as a great loss to people of all shades living in India. Congress Party Thursday organized a function at Srinagar Party Office to commemorate 76th birth anniversary of Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, in which Senior Party leaders, Ex. Legislators, District Presidents and prominent Party workers participated and recalled the selfless services and sacrifices given by the departed leader for the country.
JKPCC President G.A. Mir who presided over the function paid floral tributes to Former Prime Minister on his 76th birth anniversary and described him as a great statesman, reformer and visionary, who did his utmost to make India a powerful country in every respect.
Mir recalled the sacrifices & selfless services rendered departed leader to the Nation and said Rajiv Ji was a best reformer, who restructured the Rural India by introducing Pnchayati Raj System, aiming to empower poor and downtrodden people at grass roots, besides enabling them to generate employment by getting involved in developmental process through panchayats, which was the landmark decision of the departed leader, G.A. Mir said.
The deceased leader shall continue to inspire the generations, for the fact, he has taken the prestige of the Nation to the new heights in every respect.
The Former Prime Minister was a best policy maker, who worked tirelessly to make the Nation a vibrant economy and did his utmost to empower people at grass roots level, he introduced information technology, computer sciences and many other important things were made possible in the country thereby bringing the Nation at par with other fast developing countries in the world during his tenure as Prime Minister, PCC President said.
The most popular leader of India Rajiv Ji was known for his vision and capabilities, who took many landmark decisions with regard to rural employment guarantee, inclusive development including defence, education, finance and ensured fulfillment of dreams of the country men, Mir said
On this occasion, JKPCC President said Congress Party has made immense contributions for the overall development of the country in every respect during 70 years, which could not be undone by the ruling dispensation at Centre, Mir added.
JKPCC President slammed the ruling dispensation at Centre for claiming the credit of achievements done by the Congress Party and emphasized the BJP Govt to adopt the policies of Rajiv Gandhi and contribute to peace and development rather than pushing the country to backwardness and economic crisis by taking wrong decisions, which has become a routine of the Modi Govt.
Taking the opportunity of the Birth Anniversary of Rajiv Ji, G.A. Mir appealed all country men to rise to the occasion and defeat the designs of BJP RSS, who were visible threat to harmony and diversity in the country and detrimental to country’s progress and development.
